3 exciting new cars for moderate pockets in 2017

Just because you don’t have the pockets to be on the waiting list for the new Aston-Martin DB11, it doesn’t mean that 2017 doesn’t have a lot of excitement in store for you. Here we take a look at some moderately priced cars on their way this year that we are looking forward to.

  • 2017 Suzuki Swift

Unveiled in Japan at the end of last year, the Suzuki Swift is in a similar size and class to the classic mini but with exciting extras thrown in. What may not be the most striking looking car of the year comes available in two mild hybrid 48v versions, featuring either 1 litre or 1.2 litre engines which are both capable of holding their own. Suzuki has made safety a central theme for the Swift, inserting an automatic braking system and (we hope) the choice of two or four-wheel drive.

  • 2017 Mazda CX-5

Bucking the trend for large SUVs being gas-guzzling smoke-belchers, the Mazda CX-5 has perhaps the best mpg and lowest CO2 readings of its class. The CX-5 is large, huge in fact, ideal for people and families who rely on plenty of room and boot space. The car handles and grips like a dream with more in common with a hatchback than an SUV. However, the hard suspension might not be to everyone’s taste. While the 148bhp 2.2 diesel version is unexpectedly fierce, the 2.0-litre petrol offering is somewhat lacklustre, which is a shame.

  • 2017 Skoda Octavia

The first impression is that the Octavia looks like it has been spending a lot of time at the gym. Its new muscled look isn’t all that is new though, the on-board three system infotainment systems look as cutting edge as anything else to be found in its class, while the automatic emergency braking (that detects pedestrians) and parking assistant are all wonderful additional features. The 1.6-litre diesel engine remains unchanged, meaning that although the power is unlikely to blow you away, the comfortable ride and controlled handling more than compensates. Skoda has a reputation for being competitively priced, meaning there is going to be a lot of bang for your buck.

Bentley Car Dubai

The Top 5 best Luxury Saloons

The Audi A8, BMW 7 series, Mercedes S-Class and Jaguar XJ are the top of the range luxury cars from the mainstream car makers. But for car buyers who want a four-door saloon that’s a step up from those, dripping with class, what are the options?

Let’s take a quick look at the really high-end saloons – which one’s your favourite?

  1. Maserati Quattroporto

Unashamedly brutal in its looks, Maserati has offered a four-door performance saloon, unlike Porsche and Aston Martin.Ferrari-developed engines deliver performance and sound superb but the Quattroporte has fallen behind a little in terms of space and comfort.

  2. Aston Martin Rapide

The iconic British manufacturer’s first four-door saloon since 1989 is probably the best looking of all the ‘stretched’ performance luxury cars. Despite other manufacturers’ attempts, it is still the brand most associated with James Bond.Blisteringly fast, it’s perhaps lagging behind the competition in that there’s only one engine on offer, with no diesel or hybrid choices.

  3. Porsche Panamera

As you’d expect from any Porsche, the original Panamera was quick and handled superbly, but it did look rather ungainly, like a badly stretched Carrera. The new model released last year has been re-styled, particularly at the rear, and is a lot more attractive. It also has beaten the Rapide and Quattroporte in most car magazine comparisons of 4-door luxury cars.

  4. Rolls-Royce Ghost

Stepping up a gear, Rolls-Royce has been touted as the “best car in the world” for over a hundred years, although there were some hiccups in the Seventies and Eighties.BMW engineering and English craftsmanship have returned the brand to the top, with imposing yet graceful looks and monumental performance.

  5. Bentley Mulsanne

The second of the two undisputed top luxury car brands in the world, most reviewers consider Bentley’s Mulsanne to be the best sporting saloon in the world. A 6.75l turbocharged V8 based on the original Rolls-Royce V8 of 1959 delivers astonishing power and torque and the Speed variant even tops that. It’s also significantly more expensive than the Rolls so Bentley are currently winning that battle too.

Korean Cars

Can China compete in the market for luxury cars?

Every now and then new nations enter the international car market, with varying degrees of success. The Chinese are now trying – will it work?

Previous entrants

In the Seventies, it was Eastern Bloc cars like Skoda, Lada’s version of the old Fiat 124 and the Russian Moskvitch 1500. Twenty years later the Malaysian Proton and South Korean Kia, Ssangyong, Daewoo and Hyundai brands appeared.

The offering to international car buyers was always one of low price, with lower quality and equipment levels, sometimes even lower safety levels. This makes it hard to sell luxury cars
under these brands – Skoda and Hyundai are perhaps on the way to pulling it off, but not yet.

Chinese way of making new cars

The Chinese have approached the international car market in a different way because they have access to greater finance.

They can buy existing companies with high levels of design, manufacturing and marketing expertise which makes it easier for them to access international markets.

Which new cars are Chinese?

Volvo, the Swedish company with a reputation for safe, high-quality cars, was been bought by Geely. Chinese company SAIC, which makes the Chevrolet Cruze for sale in the USA, also bought the remains of British company MG.

After a lull brought on by the international credit crisis, SAIC is now selling British-built cars as MG Motors, but it’s uncertain if that brand will sell well across the world.

But perhaps the most interesting move is from Geely: launching a new global brand called Lynk & Co using Volvo expertise. The first car from the new brand – the 01 – is a strikingly designed, high-quality SUV, loaded with technology.

Importance of luxury cars

Privately-owned Chinese car companies like SAIC and Geely have to be successful internationally as they are less competitive in China than subsidized government-owned manufacturers.

So the Lynx & Co initiative is very important – delivering new cars that aren’t perceived as budget cars and have the quality associated with Volvo.

The 01 will be one of the new cars 2017 will bring to the attention of international car buyers – will it succeed?

Big SUV mountains

Which new SUV will tempt you in 2017 and beyond?

Car manufacturers from Skoda to Rolls Royce are falling over themselves to grab a slice of the SUV market. Which new cars will they tempt us with this year?

Skoda Kodiaq

SELL ANY CAR Big car news is the arrival of Skoda’s first SUV. Better equipped than any previous Skoda, the Kodiaq has been praised as an exceptional tow-car in reviews and will be cheaper than all its rivals in the mid-sized SUV sector.

Toyota CH-R

SELL ANY CARCar buyers could choose this new Toyota, more of a cross-over than a pure SUV, which is expected early in 2017. Radically styled and well equipped, there’s a hybrid or a small turbocharged petrol engine and a choice between two or four wheel drive.

SEAT Arona

SEAT’s first SUV will be based on the same Volkswagen platform as the new Ibiza. With a minimalist cabin and stylish exterior, there’s likely to be a souped-up Cupra version later on.

Alfa Romeo Stelvio

Of all the luxury cars arriving this year, none is more of a surprise than an SUV from Alfa. The sportiest-looking 4×4 ever, it’s doubtful that sofas will fit in the back of this one.

Built to take on the Audi Q5 and BMW X3, it’ll probably handle better on the road.

After 2017

Then there’s more temptation coming your way, after the 2017 cars have been and gone…

Lynk & Co 01

A new brand developed by Chinese company Geely, using the skills and facilities of its Volvo subsidiary, Lynk & Co’s strikingly designed first SUV will be called the 01 and is due out in 2018.

Land Rover Defender

Then the long-awaited replacement for the original Land Rover – the new Defender – is expected in 2018. It will retain its predecessor’s iconic shape but with the modern design cues seen in the Evoque and new Discovery.

But the company is insistent that it will retain it’s superior off-road capabilities rather than follow the “soft-roader” trend of its competitors.

And for those interested in real luxury cars, the world’s most expensive SUV, the Rolls Royce Cullinan arrives in 2019!

There are definitely some exciting cars coming soon, if you can wait.

What service do customers expect when selling their car?

When you’ve dealt with as many clients as we have over the years, you learn a thing or two about customer service.

Much of it comes down to not just common sense, but common manners and decency. After all, the clients we buy cars off expect nothing less on any of those fronts.

However, you can give a good service or you can give a great one. In order to up the ante and go that extra mile – something we encourage all of our employees to do, all of the time – there are certain approaches you should take in order to meet truly professional standards. Here are the top five golden rules we always go by.

  1. Honesty

It’s fair to say that a lot of people are skeptical when initially coming to us. They’re most likely not experts in the industry and are concerned about the prospect of being ripped off by a clever trickster.

As such, you’re unlikely to convince any client to part with their motor until they’ve overcome these completely understandable feelings. The best way to do that is to be forthright and blunt from the start, laying all your cards on the table for them to see.

  2. Expertise

As said beforehand, customers often don’t know much about automobiles or what they’re worth.

They come to us as they expect us to have these answers, not just in a booklet but off the top of our heads. That kind of expertise reassures clients that they’re in capable hands.

  3. Thoroughness

In tandem with proving their expertise, our employees also have to ensure that all of their knowledge is passed on to their clients, allowing them to make the most informed decisions possible.

In order to do this, they have to be prepared to cover every detail they could ever want to know. Regardless of whether each client desires such thoroughness, it’s having the option that counts.

  4. Authenticity

Clients like to deal with people, not salespeople. Listening to a stream of well-crafted jargon instantly makes people feel as if someone is trying to bamboozle them with information, something which hardly inspires trust.

Alternatively, speaking in common, conversational tones helps engender a sense of authenticity.

  5. Sense of humour

Finally, there’s no reason why selling a car shouldn’t be a fun experience.

Clients like to socialise and have a laugh as much as anyone else, and the whole process becomes a much better experience if they’re able to walk around with a smile on their faces at all times. A keen sense of humour on the employee’s part is the best way of managing this.

The 3 hottest luxury cars on the market

We all love luxury, and whether it’s within your pay grade or not, who doesn’t enjoy admiring it from time to time? Cars can be creatures of true beauty, and splashing the cash will get you the most exquisite motors on the market. Yes, the decadence is unnecessary in the grand scheme of things, but since when has that stopped us from admiring it? If you have a hankering to admire the unobtainable, here are three of the hottest luxury cars on the market today…

1. The BMW 5 Series

Few motors are as multi-talented as the delicious BMW 5 Series. Big, beautiful, and brilliantly luxurious, it boasts space, comfort, and performance combined. Neatly tucked in at the lower end of its class, it starts from £36,025, and it’s worth every penny. The backbone of BMW’s range, it is truly the best of its breed. With an exceptional aesthetic, muscular six-cylinder 530D option, and eight-speed automatic gearbox, it’s all too deserving of your admiration.

2. Mercedes-Benz S-Class

The Mercedes S-Class has been synonymous with the rich and the powerful for decades. It’s eternally unobtainable for most of us, and that’s what makes it so alluringly exclusive. The latest model upgrades its tech offering and efficiency better than any prior incarnation, with one of our favourite innovations being the windscreen-mounted cameras. Able to perfectly prepare the suspension for the road ahead, it’s no surprise that the S-Class offers motorists such a smooth and powerful drive.

3. Porsche Panamera

Porsche has long been the luxury lover’s favourite, but the original Panamera failed miserably in capturing the imagination of all those who so celebrated its 911 sibling. It was big, it was hunch-backed, and it wasn’t a pretty sight, but this version is fundamentally different. Reusing the deliciously plush interior, phenomenal handling, and punchy engine of its predecessor, it has the added boon of coming packed with technology, as well as being more spacious inside and far more economical to run. Retailing at £66,741, it offers an awful lot of bang for your significant amount of buck.

If they were yours for the choosing, which of these motors would you be adding to your garage?

Four factors that can help you choose the perfect car

If you’re planning on selling your old car and investing in a new one, you’ll want to make sure that your new vehicle is absolutely perfect. After all, you might not go to the trouble of replacing your old car if you didn’t want a superior one. There are four factors you should take into consideration when choosing a new car: safety, cost-effectiveness, overall performance and style. Simply deciding which factors are most important to you can help you work out exactly what type of car you want. Before you can find your dream car, you need to use our four factors to work out what kind of car it is.

1. Safety

How confident do you feel when you’re driving? If you are a less experienced driver (or simply feel a little nervous when you’re on the road), safety might be very important to you. Investing in a safe, highly-stable vehicle can protect you from accidents and (just as importantly) allow you to feel more confident and secure when driving. On the other hand, if you’re an experienced driver and you’re confident that you can drive most vehicles safely, you may wish to focus on other factors instead.

2. Cost-effectiveness

If you are on a tight budget, you will need to prioritise cost-effectiveness. You should look for a vehicle that can be purchased without breaking the bank. However, you should also make sure that it will be affordable to run in the long-term. For example, it shouldn’t have a high level of road tax associated with it and should be reasonably fuel-efficient. However, if you’re relatively well-off, you may wish to splash out on something more remarkable but less affordable.

3. Overall performance

Are you passionate about driving or do you simply see your car as a way of getting from point A to point B? If you do enjoy driving, performance should be a very important factor for you. The speed, torque and handling of a vehicle will affect your enjoyment of it, so it’s worth looking for a car that performs well in all these areas. If you aren’t passionate about driving, however, you might prefer to prioritise practical factors (including safety and cost efficiency).

4. Style

Are you happy with a car that you can drive comfortably and which meets your basic cost and safety requirements, or do you want a vehicle that will impress everyone who sees it? If appearance is important to you in general, you should think about style and visual appeal when choosing your new car.

Whichever factors you choose to focus on when looking for your new car, you’ll need to sell your old one before making a purchase. Here at Simply Car Buyers, we’re happy to buy any car, including yours. Contact us today to find out more about selling your car quickly and easily.

The best hybrid cars available

In recent years, hybrid cars have enjoyed a noticeable increase in popularity. This is hardly surprising. They are more environmentally friendly than most vehicles and more fuel efficient. If you want to fight climate change and save money at the petrol pump, investing in a hybrid car is a wise move. Are you dreaming of selling your old car and investing in a brand-new hybrid? If so, you might want to splash out on one of these three most luxurious hybrid cars currently available.

1. TheMercedes E-Class E350e

Superlative luxury has always been Mercedes’ trademark. The E350e, their latest hybrid saloon car, epitomises the manufacturer’s attitude to opulence. The interior is sumptuously comfortable and the body is gorgeously stylish, streamlined and understated. Like all Mercedes vehicles, the E-Class E350e handles like a dream. However, like most hybrids, the car’s biggest selling point is its fuel-efficiency: it’s capable of achieving 134 miles per gallon.

2. Lexus CT Hatchback

Sell Lexus In DubaiIf the Mercedes brand is slightly out of your price range, you may wish to consider the Lexus CT Hatchback. It offers a similarly luxurious interior and stylish exterior, but at a considerably lower price-point. It doesn’t feel quite as smooth to drive as its Mercedes-branded rival. Nonetheless, the driving experience it provides is still sufficiently sybaritic to satisfy most motorists.

3. The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV SUV

Sell Mitsubishi DubaiFor those who prefer a more rugged vehicle choice, the Outlander PHEV SUV is an excellent option. It’s a satisfyingly bulky, spacious car that feels as powerful as a top-notch SUV. With its innovative hybrid system, it can manage 148 miles per gallon, making it even more efficient than Mercedes’ E350e. It can also drive for 30 miles purely using electric power.

If any of these vehicles sound tempting to you, contact us today about selling your current car. We are happy to buy any car. What’s more, the price we offer you might just put one of these high-quality vehicles within your reach. Here at Simply Car Buyers, we believe that hybrid vehicles are your future. Your old car is our future.

The best 5 used cars to buy in 2017

If you’re looking at buying a car this year, why not considering purchasing a used vehicle? A used car often doesn’t depreciate in value as quickly as a brand new one and if you don’t drive all that much, a used car can make for a better choice than a new one.

If you’re going to be in the market for a new car in 2017, here are some to seriously consider:

1. Kia Cee’d

This is a good all-round car, being spacious and easy to drive. It is also just as good sell your carfor short around-town trips as it is for longer motorway driving. Best of all, its seven uear/1,000,000-mile warranty can be transferred on the used market, which means you don’t lose that new-car protection, even if you buy it second-hand.

2. Vauxhall Insignia

The Insignia is a handsome-looking car, with high build quality and it makes for a really comfortable driving experience. For someone looking for a great value second-hand car, the Insignia is a good choice because depreciation has hit this particular car hard.

3. Skoda Yeti

Sell Any Car Simplycarbuyers.com

The Skoda Yeti is an SUV, but it has lost the bulky look of most of its competition. It has plenty of space for passengers and is a comfortable way to drive. For people needing extra space, the rear seats can be easily moved backwards and forwards and for those occasions when you really need a van, the rear seats can even be removed entirely.

4. Dacia Duster

Sell car dubaiThe Duster is easily the least expensive way to own a versatile SUV. It is a solid second-hand car with a high build quality, even if the interior is designed to be more functional than stylish. It has a soft suspension system which helps to make driving long distance comfortable, but it can suffer from leaning if you try to take corners at speed.

5. Ford Focus

sell car uaeNo list of second-hand cars would be complete without at least mentioning the Ford Focus. It can seat five in reasonable comfort, is great for city driving and motorway use and is a good car to use on those winding B-roads. Its only real issue is storage space – its boot is a good deal smaller than others in a similar size class.
